All of the campers in the brochure have three individual clearance lights in the center, so did my own 2002 Lance 915. The lights on your unit may not be the ones that came with the camper originally.

From memory, many years ago. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
The corner brackets need to be square and level. Lift the roof fully up, then insert the (unloaded) torsion bar and lower the roof. This will load the spring. To get the torsion bar in, it may be neccessary to lift the roof higher than the canvas will let you. The camper we worked on way back when got a completely new roof and the canvas was not in place yet. There are no other springs in that mechanism.
As you have noted, the torsion force is pretty big. The wood that the brackets are mounted to needs to be in very good shape and the whole frame needs to be structurally sound. A patch job will not last long, if at all.
When the roof is lowered and the spring is loaded, that force keeps trying to rotate the corner brackets for as long as the roof is down. Once the structure is compromised, the brackets begin to turn out of level. You see that a lot in older campers, it is a tell-tale sign.

There should be a mechanical end switch that engages when the dome is closed. I had a corrosion problem there once, but on a less sophisticated Fantastic Fan model.

The Brophys will probably work just fine for you on paved roads.
As has been said, the camper will overload your truck. This is not neccessarily a problem, but you need to know by how much, and you need to know what you are doing.
Stated weights for trucks and campers are chronically "optimistic", and just adding up numbers from sales brochures or even camper placards will usually not give a reliable total weight. Only a scale knows the truth.
For your own sake, you should have the rig weighed and know the actual axle weights without / with camper. The limiting factor is typically the Rear Axle Weight Rating (RAWR), which is often limited by the carrying capacity of the rear tires. That is one number you should try not to exceed.
How will it handle? Depends on your driving and expectations...
You say you are a carpenter and want to live in the truck. Where are your tools and how much do they weigh? Are you planning to pull a trailer? If so, the tongue weight of the trailer will reduce the available carrying capacity.
Also... when you start making modifications to the camper, you will typically add more weight.

Your camper is ~17 years old. Are the roof corners the only problem, or are they the only parts you need to procure? From your question, I suspect there is more wrong with the roof that needs to be fixed.
I don't know how exactly the older Outfitter roofs looked like ... But it might be a possibility to contact Northstar or BundutecUSA for parts infornation, they still make multi-piece roofs. Maybe they can help.
Or get a quote from Outfitter for a new single-piece fiberglass roof.

Just putting something new on top of the old stuff may be the better approach.
When I had to remove the "linoleum" in my 2001 Lance, the stuff was quite nasty. There was some cardboard-like backing underneath the top coat which disintegrated when I tried to pull the flooring off. I had to scrape it off very painstakingly, and it took quite some time.
Of course the flooring in your newer camper could be different. If you try to take it out, maybe try in a hidden spot first.

In my experience, an hour is never enough for an absorption fridge to cool down. More like "over night". What was the ambient temperature? What was the temperature inside the fridge?
